100 Days and Counting… is an international call to action to support the Tamil refugees in Merak, Indonesia. In a show of solidarity across the world, demonstrations are being held to call on governments to end the “Indonesian Solution.”
The Melbourne vigil will be held 18 January at 5:30 pm outside the State Library, on the corner of Swanston Street and Latrobe Street.
As a signatory to the UN Convention on Refugees, Australia has an obligation to accept and resettle refugees fleeing persecution in their home countries. Join the demonstration on 18 January to call on the Australian government to fulfill its obligation and take responsibility for these Tamil asylum seekers.
