As part of a series of ongoing workshops and evening sessions that we run at the Humanitarian Crisis Hub, our most recent session on 24 August dealt with the very important topic of Corporate and Shareholder activism.
Up to nine Melbourne-based community organisations attended the session. Many of the groups had not as yet connected with the corporate sector, or did not know how to get started.
Our special thanks go to Meg Hamilton, the Corporate Relations Manager for Plan International Australia, who facilitated the evening’s program.
Meg gave some very useful insights into understanding the benefits of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). She also highlighted how community groups could effectively create mutually beneficial partnerships with the business sector in Australia and develop and implement strategies to engage with it.
