UPDATE 14/1:

As the Brisbane Convention Centre is unavailable due to flood clean-up, the Brisbane Voting Centre has been moved to:

Voting in Brisbane for the Southern Sudan Referendum has been suspended due to the threat of flooding

UPDATE 1/12:

  • IMPORTANT NEWS  MELBOURNE REGISTRATION CENTRE

As you are aware the registration period for the South Sudan Referendum has been extended in Melbourne until 8 December.

Due to a ‘Rock Concert’ at the Melbourne Showgrounds this Saturday the registration centre has been changed to:

This Saturday 4 December 2010, 8am to 5pm

Note:  The registration Centre will return to the Showgrounds from Sunday 5 December.

UPDATE 29/11:

  • The South Sudan Referendum Commission (SSRC) has decided to extend the registration period by 7 days.  The closing dates for each centre are:

Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra: 8 December 2010
Brisbane: 9 December 2010
Perth: 12 December 2010

Same locations as announced before.

  • Voter registration in Perth is no longer going to be held at the Filipino Club.

  • November 15: The registration has been delayed. The South Sudan Referendum Committee (SSRC) is considering opening up additional polling sites,
    as well as the current sites in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.  “The SSRC has instructed that OCV Registration in Australia and the USA to be suspended until petitions for additional sites have been considered. Final approval will rest with the SSRC,” says SSRC Spokesperson, George Maker Benjamin.
  • November 16: The South Sudan Referendum Commission (SSRC) has approved the opening of the registration on 16th November in the three designated centres (Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney).
